What we collect
While you explore, photos and design choices are stored in your browser. When you choose Generate or request an AI revision, we receive the photo, selected style, player description and design instructions. When you submit checkout, we receive your selected image, design notes, name, email, shipping address, product choices and order reference. Stripe handles card information directly if card payments are enabled; we do not store card numbers.
Memory collages are made in your browser. While you design, your photos, the faces and cut-outs you check and the words you type stay on your device and are not sent to us or to OpenAI. When you add a collage to your cart, we receive the photos placed on it (your device removes their location data first), the cut-outs you approved, the layout, the words on the collage (such as a name, number or sport), a preview and the print file.
If you ask to hear when a new product is ready, we keep your email, the product and the options you picked (such as colour or size) to send you one email when it launches. We do not keep the name or number you typed into the preview. Ask us to remove it at any time.
Why we use it
We use order and design information to provide the service you request, review artwork, arrange delivery and answer enquiries. This processing is necessary for the steps you request before a contract and for fulfilling your order. We retain records needed for legal obligations and use limited technical information for our legitimate interest in protecting the service from abuse.
Who processes it
Cloudflare hosts the site, private images and order database. OpenAI processes photos and instructions to create AI artwork; a revision also includes the earlier clean artwork as a reference. Memory collages are never sent to OpenAI. Authorised store operators can review order information. Merchize receives the delivery and product information needed for fulfilment and an expiring link to the selected image (for a memory collage, its print file). Replicate processes the finished artwork (not your original photo) to make larger print files after you order and, for a light-up cover, to cut out the player for the light-off view and print layer. The workshop that makes our light-up frames receives the two design files for your frame and your name and delivery address, to make and ship the frame; it is outside the US and the European Economic Area. Stripe processes payments and payment records. Emails you send are processed by our mailbox provider. These providers may process information outside the European Economic Area; applicable provider data-processing terms and transfer safeguards govern those transfers.
Photo privacy
The image bucket is private. Images are accessible through an authorised order session or an expiring signed link. Such links should not be shared publicly. We do not publish customer images or use them in advertising without separate permission. Adults must have permission to submit images, including images of children.
For memory collages, finding faces and cutting out the player happen in your browser, using tools loaded from our own site. No other service receives your photos for this.
AI previews and optional tracking
AI generation runs only after you request it, not simply when you choose a file. OpenAI API data is not used to train its models by default; its own security and abuse-monitoring retention rules apply. See OpenAI data controls. Deleting a preview here does not override the provider’s retention obligations. Essential browser storage keeps your selections and order session. Unless you switch them off in cookie preferences, Microsoft Clarity records interactions on the site with form fields masked, PostHog (hosted in the EU) records page views, clicks, page speed, errors and session recordings, with form fields masked and your photo and artwork blocked, and counts funnel steps including order value, Google Analytics counts page views and the same funnel steps (advertising signals off), and Meta Pixel measures advertising through page views, product views, design starts, adds to cart, checkout starts and completed orders with the order value and product ids. We also send the completed order to Meta from our server with a hashed email, IP address, browser identifier and Meta cookie identifiers, so the browser and server reports of one order are matched rather than counted twice. These providers receive technical information such as IP address, browser/device information and the visited page, and use cookies. We do not pass photos, player details or address fields into tracking events. Change or withdraw permission in Cookie preferences. See Microsoft privacy, PostHog privacy, Google privacy and Meta privacy.
Retention and your choices
Since October 2, 2026, we keep the photos you upload, your previews and their print files for up to 12 months, so we can make the changes you ask for, reprint if something arrives damaged and check the quality of our artwork. They are then deleted automatically. Your link to an unpurchased preview works for seven days. Email hello@playdaylegends.com to have your photos and previews deleted sooner, or use Delete this photo and its preview versions on the reveal page. Photos uploaded before October 2, 2026 are deleted seven days after upload, as we promised when they were uploaded. Artwork you order is kept with the order for printing, reprints and our records.
Request metadata is retained for troubleshooting and abuse prevention; contact us to request its deletion. This browser keeps generated design references and their private access key for the seven days your preview link works, so you can return without an account. Clearing browser data or using another browser removes that access. If you ask us to email you the design, the link in that email opens it in any browser for seven days, unless you delete the preview sooner; anyone you forward the email to can open it too. If you tap Share on your preview, we make a private page with only the watermarked picture and a link to our shop: anyone you send that link to can open it, search engines are asked not to list it, and it stops working when your preview link ends or when you delete the preview. Local image copies remain until you use the deletion button or clear browser data for this site. Clearing browser data alone does not delete server copies. Contact support to request deletion of order-related images; legally required records may be retained.
Memory collage drafts stay in this browser until you choose Start over. A draft left unchanged for seven days is deleted the next time you open the collage page, and clearing this site's browser data removes it sooner. A collage you add to your cart is saved on our server. If you do not order it, your link to it ends after seven days; its photos, cut-outs, preview, print file and words are kept for up to 12 months as described above, then deleted. Ask us to delete it sooner. An ordered collage is kept with the order, like other order images.
Email hello@playdaylegends.com to request access, correction, deletion, restriction or a portable copy of your information, or to object to processing where applicable. We may need to verify your identity. Legal obligations may require us to retain some records. You can complain to the Lithuanian State Data Protection Inspectorate or another competent data-protection authority.
